About Sydney Shoulder Research Institute
During 2024, Sydney Shoulder Research Institute aka SSRI received donations from different parties which were applied directly towards research into the treatment and rehabilitation of diseases and disorders of the shoulder and elbow. Monies funded the purchase of cadavers, treatment and placebo medications, equipment, radiology imaging and other study materials such as stationery and software. Monies also funded clinical trial set up expenses, registration, coordination, monitoring as well as research presentation and publication. Results from our studies have been published in leading, peerreviewed journals as well as, more recently, open access journals. Results have also been presented both locally and around the world via Zoom or other platforms and also face to face. Research results were presented by the doctorresearchers who worked on our studies. Given many of these are surgeons who are in the early stages of their careers, their participation in orthopaedic conferences is crucial and was supported by SSRI financially. All activities (as well as the many and varied administrative tasks associated) directly helped SSRI to continue to achieve its purposes which is to undertake quality, focused research and improve patient outcomes. Details on the work undertaken at SSRI can be found on our website at www.ssri.net.au
