About Sydney Computing Society
The Sydney Computing Society acts to engage and assist the learning of students studying computer science related disciplines at The University of Sydney and by extension, other universities in Sydney. To achieve this aim we run a number of annual and weekly events designed to engage students with our society and community, allow students to build relationships with industry employers (who sponsor our society), and challenge the skills of students who participate in our competitions. A list of our events are as follows, roughly correlated to our core objectives. Engaging students in our society and community: Weekly BBQ, Weekly Social Night, Camp, Ball, Diversity Nights, Women in Tech Events, Intersociety Events. Building student relationships with industry employers: Sponsor Workshops, Sponsor Social Nights, Industry Networking Night, Industry Workshop Interview Night, and all of our competitions (which sponsors often use to offer internships and other opportunities to high performers). Challenging students skills through competitions: Ideas Fest, Programming Fundamentals Competition, Bot Battle Competition, SYNCSHACK Hackathon.
