We provide LGBTIQA+ peerled support services, with a focus on mental health, suicide prevention, and family violence. We develop and disseminate information on issues and themes that impact LGBTIQA+ communities, ensuring relevance to our services and purpose. We offer training and capabilitybuilding programs for LGBTIQA+ peer workers, volunteers, and other professionals in community health and human services. Switchboard participates in advocacy on issues and themes that impact LGBTIQA+ communities within our sphere of influence, ensuring alignment with our purpose, experience, and areas of work. We contribute to research, consultations, and advisory roles while providing policy recommendations on issues that directly affect LGBTIQA+ communities, the LGBTIQA+ sector, and the broader health and human services sector. Switchboard engages directly with LGBTIQA+ communities to foster connection, facilitate conversation, and reduce social isolation. We strengthen the broader LGBTIQA+ community sector by referring individuals who engage with our services to other organisations that may better support their needs. Through events, workshops, functions, and gatherings, we create opportunities for community members to connect and share their wisdom and experiences. Our general and life members play a crucial role in shaping and contributing to our community. Their involvement enriches our initiatives, and we honor their contributions through regular engagement and inclusion in events and decisionmaking processes.
