Our 4 pillars program: Energy Transition to zero carbon energy Natural environment & biodiversity Reducing and preventing waste A sustainable built environment. We attended Shire meetings as SCEG s advocate to gain better outcomes for public transport and bicycle safety routes locally and into Geelong. During this year SCEG was able to auspice Farm My School as part of a $22,000 grant from Geelong Community Foundation. The Energy subcommittee is investigting community batteries and attedning meetings to support this exploration. We continue to partner with the Shire to create the Ridgeline project which is a bike and walking trail along the southern ridgeline of Spring Creek valley. Since then the idea has grown, got sponsorship, partners, finance and legs to become an integral part of the whole Spring Creek valley vision. SCEG s Ecological Footprint Planner was created and is still being modified to suits the community s needs. SCEG continues to work away with partners to reinforce the attributes of the valley and highlight our position on the vision as something beyond Landcare, and more about a Systems approach to sustainability in this 21st century. We now have a logo and a website. We have held 6 film and dicussion evenings using grant funding to support our work and engage our wider community.
