SWEC engaged, researched and made submissions on new and ongoing environmental issues. The Centre liased with Local Government, State Government, environmental groups and community members of the South West WA, advocating for the environment and threatened species of the South West. SWEC also collaborated with Conservation Council of WA, and supported a joint letter to protect WA Nature and to save the WA EPA.
