South Australian Rainbow Advocacy Alliance Inc.

We undertook systemic advocacy, providing expert advice, community consultation and policy analysis to make structural social change to policies and practices that improves the quality of life for LGBTIQA+ South Australians. Our wins included advocating for a legislative ban on conversion practices, defeating a harmful parliamentary inquiry into gender affirming care, hosting a roadshow for government leaders, supporting the establishment of an SA Parliamentary Friends of LGBTIQA+ communities group and representing LGBTIQA+ communities on key advisory Councils. We built the capacity of LGBTIQA+ communities to actively participate in public life by providing opportunities for networking and connection. We supported LGBTIQA+ South Australians with subsidies to attend the national Better Together conference, hosted events at Feast Festival, supported LGBTIQA+ finalists to attend the Young Achiever Awards and were recognised for our work as a finalist for Community Group of the Year at the inaugural SA Pride Awards.
