Short Black Opera continues to provide training and performance opportunities for First Nation's classically trained singers and instrumentalists. Short Black Opera also delivers programs that support the ongoing regeneration and development of First Nation's languages around the country, using music as a catalyst for exploration and growth. SBO has formed several significant partnerships to support its instrumental program, Ensemble Dutala, Australia's first Indigenous instrumental ensemble and the One Day in January Scholarship initiative. These partnerships will allow for the expansion and further development of this program over the next decade. These partnerships include Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Victorian Opera and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
