About Shoalhaven Heads Slsc Inc

During the 20232024 season Shoalhaven Heads Surf Life Saving Club Inc has provided and maintained Life Saving Patrols and related Life Saving Services on Seven Mile Beach at Shoalhaven Heads NSW 2535, as required by agreements with Surf Life Saving Australia, Surf Life Saving NSW and Local Government Authorities. Patrolling members have attended to incidents both in and out of the water, applying rescue and first aid interventions to those who have required our services. We also provide advice to beach visitors to promote public safety in and out of the water. We have been involved in cross agency emergency call out situations in our locality, where patrol member skills in aquatic support and responses have been required. The club training program has a significant role in the education of patrolling life saver adult members 18+ and youth cadet life savers, aged 1417. Patrolling members have gained accredited award qualifications to the standard required by Surf Life Saving Australia and Surf Life Saving NSW. Our support volunteers have acquired skills through SLSA course participation to engage in roles in admin and junior activity coordination. The club also provides a Nippers program for junior members aged 513, providing them with education and practical skills important for surf and beach safety. The club has promoted and instilled teamwork, and safety of self and others, to all children involved in the Nippers program throughout the season. It is important to grow the skills of our juniors as they develop attributes to become future patrol life saver members. Patrolling members also educate the public direct, and through media channels, about the risks associated with beach activities and swimming away from patrolled flagged zones. The Club has engaged in community liaison events throughout the year, so the public is more aware and informed, and is encouraged to enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle in a safe way. We welcome all our community to participate in the club as members, and as visitors, and promote inclusiveness in our role as a public aquatic safety and emergency service. The Board of Directors of Shoalhaven Heads Surf Life Saving Club Inc continues to uphold the values of Surf Life Saving Australia and fulfill the requirements of Australian Charities and NotforProfits Commission.
