About Shantideva Buddhist Foundation Limited
The financial year from 30th June 2023 to 30th June 2024 has seen a significant increase in activity, as reflected in our current bank balance. Our fundraising efforts have been well underway, particularly in support of our initiative to assist monks and nuns wishing to study or work in Australia. A key focus has been raising funds to bring a Tibetan woman and nun to Australia. She is a Geshelevel trainee in Tibetan Buddhism, holding the equivalent of a Doctorate in Buddhist philosophy, with a specialisation in Sanskrit a skill in high demand. Additionally, she is proficient in teaching Tibetan, which will be highly beneficial to Australian monks, nuns, and lay practitioners interested in Tibetan learning and literature. We will continue our efforts in the 20242025 financial year, engaging an immigration lawyer and other specialists to navigate this complex process. Furthermore, we have been actively raising funds for the purchase, preservation, and publication of sacred Buddhist texts to support the education of both monastic and lay Buddhist scholars. In addition to these initiatives, we are exploring the establishment of a Charitable Fund to assist individuals facing financial hardship who would benefit from our programs but may not have the means to attend. Overall, we have experienced a highly productive postCOVID year and look forward to expanding our efforts in the coming financial year. Sincerely, Yours sincerely Karilyn Fazio (Ani Drolma) Secretary Shantideva Buddhist Foundation Ltd 0407510129
