Sculpture By The Sea Incorporated

Sculpture by the Sea successfully presented three main programs during the 2024 financial year. In October/November 2023, the Sculpture by the Sea Bondi 2023 exhibition, transforming the Bondi to Tamarama Coastal walk into a free to the public temporary sculpture park exhibiting 105 works by artists from 21 countries, with an estimated 405,000 visitors over 18 days. In March 2024, the Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe 2024 exhibition which presented 71 sculptures by artists from 14 countries on the Cottesloe Foreshore as a free to the public sculpture park with an estimated 238,000 visitors over 18 days. The continuing development of a permanent sculpture trail, the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, which has grown to 60 sculptures in twelve locations across the Snowy Valleys by artists from 15 countries across the world installed in the towns of Adelong, Batlow, Talbingo, Tumbarumba, Tumut, the hamlet of Tooma and the Tumbarumba wine region cellar doors at Courabyra Wines, Johansen Wines and Obsession Wines. The Association, in addition to organising the exhibitions to present the artist s work to be viewed by this large public audience, was able to support the exhibiting artists by paying installation and deinstallation services, offering a range of awards, subsidies, mentorships and scholarships, as well providing a professional team to sell their work. This support provided income to the artists of approximately $2.6 million during the year. Over 4,200 primary and secondary school students attended our Schools Education Program including tours and workshops with artists and educators. 885 people participated in the Tactile tour program, specially formulated for people with a range of disabilities.
