We exist to educate poverty out of existence. We funded the provision of quality primary and high school education and ancillary services (WASH programs, nutritious meals, health care, vocational/skilling training, psychosocial support) to approximately 5,000 vulnerable children across 10 schools in East Africa. This includes our schools in the Mpigi District of Uganda, as well as selected Ugandan government schools and partner organisations. We provided capacity building support to our partner organisations in East Africa across monitoring and evaluation, finance, governance, strategy and fundraising. We employed over 120 local people and provided them continued professional development opportunities including teacher training, mentoring and leadership coaching to build their capacity. We invested in infrastructure development to support the sustainability of our programs and those of our partner organisations. We conducted community education and uplift programs to educate and engage local community members in our work (menstrual hygiene management, parenting, child protection and income generating workshops).
