About Scarf Community Organisation
* We provided hospitality training and mentoring, paid work experience opportunities (in partner restaurants), job readiness workshops and individualised wellbeing and employment support to young people (18 28 years) seeking protection and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds experiencing longterm unemployment or unstable work conditions * Participants in Scarf programs greatly increased their skills, knowledge, confidence and networks, and overall employability (as measured by regular surveys and other evaluation methods including SVA's 'Review for Outcomes' tool) * Through a traumainformed model which engages hospitality partners and the community sector, Scarf programs helped make employment more equitable for some of the most marginalised young people in Victoria * Majority of Scarf Graduates accessed individualised postprogram support, resulting in Scarf maintaining strong employment outcomes (minimum 70% of graduates in stable employment within 6 months) * For uptodate Scarf statistics and social impact, see: https://www.scarfcommunity.org/factsandfigures
