Save A Horse Australia Inc

We operate a rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary in the Scenic Rim region of South East Queensland and rescue abandoned, neglected horses, horses that were slaughter bound or horses that can no longer be cared for by their owners. We rehabilitate and rehome horses to new owners, maintain horses in various herd environments in our sanctuary or place the older horses into family foster care or our Golden Oldies program where older unwanted horses are given a good life and a dignified passing. We also operate under a grant from Racing Queensland where the QOTT Program has partnered with Save A Horse Australia to establish a formal safety net for retired racehorses in Queensland. The partnership supports SAHA to take in vulnerable and neglected former racehorses into care at our horse rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary located in Beaudesert, Queensland. As part of this program we attend various horse sales identifying brands of any off the track thoroughbreds or standard breeds who may have been engaged in the racing industry. To facilitate this work we rely on donations from the public, private and business sponsorship and the grant from Qld Racing. We also undertake regular fundraising activities.
