About Saltbush Social Enterprises Ltd
1. We provided youth (1217 year olds) with safe, secure and supportive 24/7 accommodation services in Darwin & Alice Springs as an alternative to remanding a young person in custody and as a safe sleeping refuge for young people at risk. 2. We provided a wellbeing program targeted to people who recognise they are struggling, such as people with low intensity mental health issues. 3. We worked closely with Government employment services, Indigenous communities and industry employers to source, train and support Indigenous people into jobs. 4. We delivered a School Nutrition Program at the Elliott School. 5. We provided alternative diversion pathways, including vocational training and employment options for youth aged 1417 years and an emphasis on building family capacity and responsibility for youth aged 813 years, with a goal to reengaging youth with mainstream education. 6. We provided an aspirational pre employment program that is a life skills and work ready program focusing on assisting participants to develop the capacity to transition from welfare dependence towards sustainable long term employment and a future career, while building self esteem and confidence. 7. We provided accredited and nonaccredited training programs in early childhood, community services, hospitality, child youth and family intervention and Aboriginal workforce mentoring. 8. We supported vulnerable and disadvantaged people, providing a program focused on pathways to selfreliance and empowerment through local community driven solutions that support individuals to address barriers to participating in community activities, reduce social isolation, develop soft skills and support social and economic participation.
