About Safe Ground Incorporated
Our charity strives to promote peace and prevent harm caused by armed violence. To achieve this, we collaboratively worked with key stakeholders both in Australia and the Pacific, where we participated in international meetings to address ethical concerns around lethal autonomous weapons. Our efforts have facilitated the development of international policies, which have further strengthened the commitment to safe and ethical practices within the industry, moving us closer to our ultimate mission. Furthermore, by engaging with key stakeholders and survivors in the Solomon Islands, we were able to raise awareness and address the issue of explosive remnants of war in the region, with a focus on promoting victim assistance and risk education to promote healing and rebuilding. Through our direct engagement with people affected by these issues, we were able to make meaningful contributions towards our mission of promoting peace and reducing harm from armed violence. After two decades promoting support to the mine action in the Pacific we are pleased to see that recently there has been a huge increase in financial support for demining efforts. We are also moving towards establishing a network of survivors from explosive remnants of war accidents. Additionally, we provided training and internship opportunities for young adults to aid us in promoting peace and reducing the harm caused by armed violence.
