Rubicon Forest Protection Group Inc

During the reporting period the RFPG undertook research, discussion, field work and advocacy around bushfire prevention and response. We followed closely policy development at the Commonwealth level regarding the mooted EPBC Act and Nature Repair initiatives and communicated our views on both of these. We participated in the DEECA Eminent Persons Panel Consultation regarding the status of the Rubicon State Forest following the cessation of loggin. We have been an active member of the Victorian Forest Alliance which brings together all of the locally based forest protection community groups. We have supported the Save our Strathbogie Forest group in their litigation with the State Government regarding fuel reduction burning.
