ROOKE aims to uplift those around us, our employees, audiences, collaborators and community. We support upandcoming artists through ROOKE's Emerging Artist Program (REAP), giving to the future of the Tasmanian and Australian arts scene. REAP participants in 2024 had the opportunity to perform with us in Up Late cabaret as part of Junction Arts Festival, join our touring show Nimble as a cast member, conceptualise and create a new circus act, and successfully audition for The National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. We continue to build and refine this program, with 2024 also seeing our first inperson training intensive, inviting all REAP artists as well as other emerging artists from the sector to engage in both structured learning as well as peertopeer engagement and learning. Our work centres around live, extraordinary experiences and bringing joy and wonder to people's lives. In 2024 we were able to do this in 14 Tasmanian towns, touring our family show Nimble along with community workshops with our Circus Across Tasmania (CAT) program. We were also able to present a bespoke, adults only performance in a gym as part of the final Mona Foma, providing three nights of immersive and engaging joy for festival goers. We secured funding for a new major work, Wilds, to premiere in 2025 as well as funding to continue to run both REAP and CAT through 2025.
