Here s the updated version with the revised final paragraph: **Over 2023/2024, RESEED Indico continued to strengthen its ties with CommunityBased Organisations (CBOs) in our target areas.** We collaborated with partners in Belgium and Mozambique to advance our ecosystem regeneration project in Central Mozambique, building on the startup funding secured from the Government of Flanders. During this financial year, significant milestones were achieved. As originally forecast, the project received both REDD+ certification and Plan Vivo certification at the end of the financial year, enabling us to access the voluntary carbon credit market. These certifications are a testament to the progress made in establishing the project as a model for sustainable climate change adaptation and ecosystem regeneration. Our team travelled to Mozambique to conduct indepth fieldwork, refining the project design with input from local communities and the onsite project team. Training continued to be a key focus, with the local team and communities gaining advanced skills in areas such as assessing social understanding of climate variability and regional climate change, addressing biodiversity and agroecological pressures, agroforestry, tree nursery management, and water harvesting techniques. Additionally, the fieldwork included training communities in fire management practices, including controlled fire use and the establishment of firebreaks, to mitigate the risks of landscape fires. Looking ahead, we are on track to creating opportunities for Australian students to participate in intensive fieldbased learning experiences. With income from the sale of carbon credits, we anticipate being able to support these students through the organisation s scholarship fund, further enriching the project's capacitybuilding and knowledgesharing objectives.
