About Refugee and Migrant Communities Network Inc.
RMCN has made significant strides in supporting recently arrived migrants and refugees, particularly in improving their settlement process in Australia. With the backing of a grant from Wyndham City Council, RMCN initiated a program specifically aimed at engaging unpaid carers for elderly individuals within Filipino communities. This program not only provided crucial information about available support services but also fostered connections among carers, promoting a sense of community and shared experience that is vital for their wellbeing. To further empower these carers, RMCN produced an informative digital educational video that serves as a valuable resource for both current and future caregivers. This video equips them with knowledge about the various support services accessible to them, thus enhancing their capacity to provide care while also looking after their own mental and emotional health. Through these initiatives, RMCN is committed to ensuring that migrant and refugee communities receive the education and resources necessary to thrive in their new environment, ultimately creating stronger, more resilient communities across Australia.
