We operate a range of programs aimed at increasing the rate of literacy in all Australians, with a focus on early years development through our Baby and PreSchool Reading Packs. These involve packaging and distributing 65,000 free reading packs across SA to families with newborn babies, and a further pack provided to preschoolaged children. The Read to Me program which supports children in out of home care distributes free start up packs and quarterly packs to 1500 plus children in care which equates to over 60,000 books. The Building Home Libraries & Parental Capacity program worked with vulnerable families in regional and metro areas with over 300 families and their children participating in the month by month program. Our professional learning supports kindergarten and long day care centres helping to underpinning every day literacy practices in their programs. Our social media campaigns continue to promote every day engagement through reading, singing, talking and playing with children each and every day.
