(1) To liaise and advise government agencies on all matters pertaining to Queensland Australian South Sea Islander (ASSI) communities. (2) Cooperate and collaborate with other groups or individuals in promoting good community relations, harmony and advancing the outcomes of ASSI s. (3) To develop policy to influence state and federal government in education issues. (4) To improve identification of Australian South Sea Islander people in government service and programs (workforce service users) etc. (Education, Health, Housing, Sports, Economics, Tourism, History, Recreation, Environment, Cultural, Justice and Social Welfare) (5) To identify and preserve and recognize ASSI culturally significant heritage and historical sites. (6) To preserve ASSI heritage through the collection, conservation and dissemination of oral histories, photographic, archival documents, films and digital media
