About Positive Life NSW Incorporated
Positive Life NSW is the public face and voice of all people living with HIV in NSW and has been since 1988. We are a community services, health promotion and consumer advocacy organisation that significantly contributes to health outcomes for people living with HIV (PLHIV). Social determinants of health and social justice issues experienced by people living with and affected by HIV are also addressed through our health promotion, peer navigation, community development and advocacy activities. Positive Life collaborates and partners with HIV and health agencies to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for PLHIV. We do this through the provision of evidence based public health information; social justice, human rights and health policy advocacy; and peer support services. Program examples are: the Peer Navigation Program including peerled health promotion activities and groups, and social inclusion events; Ageing Support Program; Work and Vocational Support Program; Digital Mentors Program; community development including consultations and workshops; campaigns and health awareness initiatives; NSW Positive Speakers Bureau; counselling support and selfadvocacy. We actively contribute to and run community events, such as World AIDS Day, the AIDS Candlelight Memorial, Mardi Gras Fair Day, Mardi Gras Parade, the Yabun Festival, Parramatta Pride, and the National Day of Women Living with HIV.
