The POVG conducted night sky viewing for adults and children to educate them in the make up of the solar system and the univese. Tours of the historical artefacts held by the Observatory were conducted during the day. A school programme, aligned with the science curriculum, was also conducted during the day to stimulate the interest of children in astronomy and science. Technical astronomy classes are run for adults who wish to deepen there understanding of astronomy. The heritage collection of astronomical artefacts and documents was maintained.
