People and Parks Foundation

People and Parks Foundation is an environment and health promotion charity dedicated to linking healthy natural environments with the health and wellbeing of people. People and Parks Foundation is also the trustee for the People and Parks Environment Trust and the People and Parks Health Trust. We often work in partnerships on programs and projects to conserve and regenerate natural environments; promote the link between nature and health, wellbeing and disease prevention; and advance education, research and conservation efforts through activities, events and awareness initiatives. In 20232024, People and Parks Foundation partnered with governments, health providers, philanthropists, schools, community groups and Traditional Owners. Our programs included Live Nature Wise, which encouraged people to Nature Dose by connecting with nature for health benefits, and its subprograms: Nature Scripts, a social prescription program supporting young people with poor mental health, Nature Wise at School, raising awareness and opportunity within schools about the benefits of Nature Dosing , and #NaturePact, a community engagement campaign promoting nature connection. Our projects included Prom Sanctuary, a partnership with Parks Victoria to address climate change impacts and support Wilsons Promontory National Park to become a coolclimate refuge for endangered species and biodiversity; Ponnun Pulgi, a partnership with Traditional Owners to rebury exposed Ancestors and protect sacred resting places; and the Moonah Woodland Community Restoration, focused on restoring Moonah Woodlands on the Mornington Peninsula. We also supported the creation of the Chelsea Australian Garden at Olinda.
