Social Engine s mission is to build life skills and provide work and work experience that enables vulnerable and atrisk young people to secure real jobs. During the 2023 24 financial year, our activities continued to focus on supporting participants to develop employability skills, confidence and practical workplace experience as a pathway to mainstream employment. We operated social enterprise activities including a pick and pack warehouse and a mobile coffee van, providing structured, supportive work environments where participants could gain handson experience, learn workplace expectations and build transferable skills. The coffee van continued to operate as a place of connection for the community, including offering access to free legal advice, while also giving participants customer service and hospitality experience. In addition, during the year we expanded our work to support refugees through our pick and pack warehouse, providing meaningful work experience and support to help them build skills, confidence and pathways into employment. Through these activities, Social Engine continued to work towards its mission of changing lives by helping people overcome barriers to employment and move into real, sustainable jobs.
