Our Charity has reduced isolation and loneliness whilst advancing mental health throughout the community this past year by: providing weekly/fortnightly opportunities for members and local residents to come together and work on meaningful projects together or on their own. providing a wide variety of activities for members and local residents to engage in. began establishing a community garden which has enabled the members and local residents to have to place to come together, meet new people, join together and grow together in all meanings of the word. the community garden has reduced isolation by drawing people out of their houses to join and meet with others, but also provided the opportunity for people to spend time in the beautiful garden on their own. It has also brought a lot of people a sense of greater mental wellbeing just being in the garden, be it in a group or on their own, in open air, hands in the soil, the taste of fresh fruit and vegetables on their tongues, hearing the sounds of nature and feeling the sun on their backs. having the community garden has increased people's mental health through being able to share knowledge, giving them a sense of purpose and value. as the community garden is fully inclusive, it is a place that is able to welcome all ages, genders, sexes, religions, cultures and abilities. We have been able to improve the mental health of many people in the community that are members of these minority groups through this inclusive environment.
