Outback Theatre For Young People

As a youth arts organisation based in a rural area, we are dedicated to providing opportunities for high quality artistic engagement for young people in South West NSW (and beyond), and through them, the wider community. All of our activities and outcomes are created to give young people living in our area a chance to engage with creative leadership positions, learn from professional artists, create work that shares their stories, and collaborate with their communities in creative and meaningful ways. Being based in a lowsocioeconomic area means we are unable to charge participants for involvement in our projects, workshops and performances, as cost has proven a huge barrier to participation in the arts. Through our smaller scale community workshop program, as well as our large scale performance and production program, we have been able to provide the residents of regional and remote NSW with high quality artistic experiences that share stories of where they live.
