Aim The aim of OVF is to support veterans, first responders and family experiencing diagnosed mental health issues, such as PTSD; and issues arising from service or transition from service, including loss of identity, meaning, and purpose. Purpose The principal purpose of Our Veterans Forge (OVF) is to facilitate a sense of identity, purpose, and belonging to a community among Defence Force Veterans, First Responders, and Family whilst promoting wellbeing and recovery from mental health issues and conditions; and building a sustainable community for members. The OVF projects aims to lift the burden of loneliness and provide participants support through engagement of individuals in skillsbased activities, and social connections with peers. By providing blacksmithing and bladesmithing and all other programs, Our Veterans Forge can offer veterans an innovative and engaging way to build positive social connections, develop new skills and interests, and improve mental and emotional wellbeing. These programs can also provide a healthy coping mechanism for managing stress and other mental health challenges. In addition to these individual benefits, Our Veterans Forge can also contribute to the broader veteran community by building social connections and creating a sense of community among veterans. By partnering with other veteran service organizations and community groups, Our Veterans Forge can help to break down silos and promote a more integrated approach to supporting veterans' mental health and wellbeing. Our Veterans Forge is creating a meaningful impact in the Western Australian veteran community by offering blacksmithing and blade smithing and other Psychosocial programs that promote mental and emotional wellbeing. By providing a unique and innovative approach to supporting veterans mental health, Our Veterans Overall, Our Veterans Forge is a program that aligns well with the criteria outlined in the DVA required framework for psychosocial programs. It provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for veterans to develop new skills, connect with others, and build their confidence and resilience
