The Olgeta Foundation, through the generous donation from Royal Brisbane Women Hospital, successfully delivered 114 hospital beds with mattresses, bed linen, and wheelchairs to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. These were distributed to local hospitals and village health posts, with ongoing efforts to reach Oro Province via sea with remaining beds, we are overcoming logistical challenges due to the lack of roads, with support from local communities. In midJune, the Olgeta Foundation supported a scientific mission with John Miller and Prodive aboard the MV Golden Dawn, in conjunction with CREOCEAN conducting an environmental assessment of the coral reefs to the north of Port Moresby Harbour's outer regions. September with Golden Dawn we assisted National Geographic s Pristine Seas Expedition in Papua New Guinea. Providing support to the research vessel Argo while doing their Environment and Conservation Program in the islands north of Kavieng in New Ireland Province. We are actively working on a pilot project which is in its planning phase, aiming to build, transport from New Zealand and install a communityscale pyrolysis systems at a school in the Hermit Islands. Designed by Nufuels Ltd for local operation, it will engage the community and provide students with a handson learning experience in sustainable practices of turning waste plastic into a fuel source without toxic pollution. The fuel will be used to fire ovens for hot water and cooking as well as be able to run a generator.
