Oakgrove Community Centre Inc. is a Public Institution which has the charitable purpose of advancing social and public welfare by: a) Providing a physical safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where community can come together to engage in activities in the company of others. b) Advancing mental health and preventing social isolation. (Oakgrove Community Centre, Rules of the Association Paragraph 2 refers) Oakgrove Community Centre is a selffunded charity, reinvesting surplus funds back into local communitybased programs. As a selffunded charity, we have planned the following activities for 2025: 1. Oakgrove Women s Wellbeing Group: Oakgrove hosts a weekly support group offering a safe space to connect, learn skills, find jobs and access support services. Oakgrove covers the annual program coordinator costs and for consumables. (An annual Grant Application is submitted to Bendigo Bank to offset a portion of the costs.) 2. Oakgrove Playgroups: Playgroups offer a structured yet relaxed environment for young children to engage in learning and development through play, social interaction and exploration. They also provide parents and caregivers with opportunities to connect and establish social support networks. Oakgrove provides supplementary funding for tutors. 3. Community Garden: The Community garden offers a shared space to grow food, connect with nature and build community, encouraging social interaction, learning and access to fresh produce. Oakgrove funds a Coordinator annually.
