About NSW Reconciliation Council Inc
Reconciliation NSW worked to advance reconciliation and create a more respectful, just and equitable community for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We engaged people in open and honest conversations to better understand our true shared histories, to value and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as a proud part of a shared national identity. We provided education to the general public in various forms, along with specific programs for early learning, primary and secondary school children and educators to improve awareness of the diverse cultures, rights and experiences of First Australians. Our work was guided by Aboriginal voices with the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to selfdetermination at the forefront. Our membership is made up of Reconciliation Groups, organisations and individuals across NSW Indigenous and nonIndigenous people who all worked together to advance reconciliation in their communities.
