NSW Hen Rescue Incorporated

We operated an animal sanctuary 'The Hen Haven' in the Northern Rivers area of NSW. We also operated a micro sanctuary in Kurrajong, NSW. There we tended to injured, stray, dumped, high needs or previously abused animals. The majority of animals in our care are hens, roosters and ducks who have been rescued from abusive factory farm situations or who had been dumped by their previous carers. We assisted in rehoming a number of animals by going through an adoption application process to ensure safe and loving homes. During this financial year we also ran a campaign to highlight the realities of intensive parent farms called 'Meet the Parents' and we rescued and cared for a number of individuals from these facilities.
