Northside Montessori School is located in Pymble and seeks to provide quality Montessori education and care to children aged from 3 years to 18 years of age. Our education is based on the Montessori Philosophy and Montessori principles developed by Dr Maria Montessori and implemented in approximately 20,000 schools worldwide. Our educators implement this philosophy and method of education while still fully meeting the requirements of the Australian Children s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). The Montessori method of education embraces personalised learning experiences focused on the child, intrinsic motivation, developing problem solving and critical thinking, collaborative learning, academic rigor, multiage classes, realworld opportunities, value creativity, student directed and encouraging selfconfidence and selfesteem. The teaching methods and curriculum centres around the individuality of the child and the belief that real learning occurs through the spontaneous activity of children in a cooperative, noncompetitive environment, promoting a joy of learning and the development of selfdiscipline.
