About Night Parrot Press Incorporated
Night Parrot Press was able to achieve its mission of providing publishing opportunities for new, emerging and established authors with the publication of its first anthology of micro memoir by WA writers, Ourselves, which featured 100 WA writers many first time and emerging. We also established an ongoing collaboration with Writing WA to be series editors on the little journal a journal published twiceyearly and featuring many first time writers. In 2024, we mentored youth Yamatji writer Mabel Gibson through a creative development grant that allowed her to write her micro memoir under mentorship and receive publishing experience through an internship. Ballardong Nyoongar editor, Casey Mulder, was copyeditor on the collection. We ran workshops in schools and the community, providing resources and publication avenues to people new toand interested inthe flash genre. In addition, we were invited to speak on panels including the Perth Writers Festival, the Margaret River Writers Festival and at the Australian Short Story Festival, sharing information on the craft of writing fiction.
