About Nambucca Valley Phoenix Limited
During the 20232024 financial year, Nambucca Valley Phoenix provided the following services: Supported employment programs for people living with a disability. 7 people with disability were employed at Phoenix. We provided centre based group activities for people living with a disability. These included arts programs in drawing & painting, ceramics, theatre, fabric and digital arts. We supported artists living with disability to participate in art awards, artists in residence programs and other professional development opportunities. Established Ability Arts MNC. This was two days of events aimed to connect artists who identify as living with a disability from across the Mid North Coast (Coffs Harbour to Taree), arts support organisation and their support workers and provide professional development to them. This was achieved through a oneday conference with guest speakers and a Q&A panel and the delivery of the Phoenix Art Prize and a Ball. The Art Prize was the first time many of these artists had ever entered and award or exhibited in a gallery before. The exhibition and catalogue provided a powerful snapshot into peoples lived experience of disability that was shared with the wider community. After Hours Youth Program and School Holiday programs. Phoenix provided an afterhours drop in and computer cafe, arts and work experience programs, including theatre, ceramics, digital, painting to youth from 1224years. We are the only organisation offering arts programs, access to technology and work experience in the region. As well as students attending local schools, the program has a big cohort of homeschool students in the region. This program provides social, emotional, educational and employment opportunities for youth. This year we employed 3 youth participants from the program. NAIDOC Week Exhibition in collaboration with the four local schools. Provided free access to meeting rooms and exhibition spaces to other local not for profits.
