About Mullane Foundation Limited

Project in 2024 included: * Waste Water Treatment Plant Batik Factory, Denpasar Bali Late in 2023, in a partnership with Corethics to find a solution to a problem of pollution to the environment (streams, waterways and irrigation sources) from Batik Fabric factories in the Denpasar region of Bali, Indonesia. In January 2024 we provided a design for a basic but functional wastewater treatment plant that would separate the ink and waste water generated by the fabric colouring process. Importantly we also wanted to ensure that the plant could be manufactured locally in Bali. After confirming manufacture of the treatment plant, in April 2024 we sent 4 people to work with the locals to install pipework, pumps, roof sheeting, guttering and drainage to commission the plant in an existing factory in Denpasar. The outcome and benefits of this project was as follows : Allowing reuse of all waste ink from the fabric dying process which provides an economic benefit Allowing reuse of the large amounts of wastewater generated from the process which provides an environmental benefit Vast reduction in pollution and contamination of water sources (used for farming) downstream of the factory Providing training and awareness to the local population on the importance of respecting the environment Providing a prototype treatment system that can be replicated across Bali and Indonesia All material were sourced from local suppliers Local labour was engaged to assist and for training. On completion of the work the system was fully functioning and the subject of much discussion amongst the local manufacturing industry leading us to believe it will be replicated. *Donation of School Supplies to Kolonga Primary School Kingdom Of Tonga In partnership with Rotary Club Of Newcastle and Sione s Foundation we organised the supply of 6 boxes (120 kilos) of school supplies (Exercise books, pens, pencils, etc and sporting equipment of various sorts. The goods were packed into containers already heading to Tonga for Sione s Foundation and shipped to the kids of Tonga in May 2024.
