About Moths and Butterflies Australasia Incorporated
The MABA Annual General Meeting was held as a virtual event, with a scientific keynote address. This meeting is available through the MABA website. The MABA Biodiversity Fund received proposals to fund an Early Career Researcher to perform research into Australasian lepidoptera. The review panel reviewed proposals and awarded a grant to investigate Phylogeny and taxonomy of Australian Heliozelidae (Adeloidea). Deatails are under the Grants tab on the MABA website. MABA also provided opinion and support for various conservation initiatives that potentially affect Australasian Lepidoptera. The Australian Butterflies citizen science website was transfed to a new platform and is an active portal for citizen science. The MABA Newsletter was published twice during 2024 providing members with articles of interest regarding Lepidoptera in the Australasian region. It is available on our website and through the National Library of Australia.
