Moonee Valley Toy Library

The objectives of our organisation are: To run a community toy library in Moonee Valley To encourage families to play together by raising the awareness of the importance and value of play To provide quality advice on the selection of play materials To connect members with other families and local services We achieve these objectives by providing a large range of developmentally appropriate toys, puzzles, outdoor equipment and games for 08 year olds and their families to borrow and use for set periods of time similar to a book library. We currently provide this service for over 200 member families. Our staff and volunteers provide quality advice on the selection of play materials at library borrowing sessions and through other communication such as newsletters, social media, and participation in community activities. Members are also given the opportunity to volunteer throughout the year in various roles which helps build community connections. We also participate in local community events and run our own events during the year, and work alongside local family support services (e.g. playgroup, maternal and child health, local council early years service).
