To provide, for young people of various backgrounds, educational opportunities and activities designed to foster selfreliance, selfesteem, independence and the capacity to fit in to and contribute to a community. To encourage awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the environment and ecological systems and to impart a basic knowledge of agriculture and horticulture and generally to increase the capacity of young people to live under and deal with physically and mentally taxing conditions.
