Purpose. Founded in 2012, MissingSchool has a purpose of ending school and social isolation experienced by Australian school students facing chronic absence due to complex medical and mental conditions. Mission. Our mission is to activate schools into flexible 'learn from anywhere' environments so students experiencing chronic absence can stay connected to their schools and classmates from all places of care. Strategic Objectives and Activities. We catalyse change through innovative, scalable, futureproof system interventions designed to produce stakeholder actions to increase student attendance, socialisation, learning, wellbeing, and mental health through their schools. Guiding Principles. Our guiding principles are studentcentred, value lived experiences, commitment to evidencebased practices, catalytic system solutions, and ethical safeguarding for all actors. Shaping more progressive, inclusive, and flexible education systems for all Australian school students by systematically addressing profound disadvantage for up to 30% with complex health challenges.
