About Migraine Foundation Limited
How Our Work Supports Our Mission and Aims Migraine Foundation Australia Migraine Foundation Australia is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by migraine and other headache disorders through advocacy, education, support, and research. Our work in 2024 and beyond has remained closely aligned with this mission, delivering measurable impact across our four key pillars: 1. Awareness and Advocacy We have continued to elevate migraine as a public health priority. Through national campaigns, participation in parliamentary initiatives such as the Victorian Brain Health Parliamentary Friendship Group, and the development of the Migraine Bill of Rights, we have strengthened the case for policy reform and better recognition of migraine as a serious neurological condition. 2. Education and Community Engagement We have expanded our reach through monthly webinars, public lectures, and community events. These have provided accessible, evidencebased information to patients, families, clinicians, and the general public. Educational initiatives like the Sunshine Neurology Weekend and our collaboration with La Trobe University for World Meditation Day have supported our goal of increasing understanding and reducing stigma around migraine. 3. Global and Regional Partnerships In 2024, we cosponsored the 10th Asian Regional Consortium of Headache (ARCH) and launched the world s first Brain Health Ambassador Program at Kotelawala Defence University in Sri Lanka, training 110 ambassadors. These efforts help embed migraine and brain health advocacy within global health frameworks, extending our mission well beyond national borders. 4. Support for Lived Experience The publication of Migraine Chronicles and the development of new support materials have amplified the voices of people living with migraine. Our growing ambassador network and peerled initiatives offer meaningful, ongoing support to those affected. Through all these activities, the Migraine Foundation continues to pursue its overarching aim: To ensure that every person affected by migraine receives the recognition, care, and support they deserve and to promote brain health for all ages, in Australia and globally.
