Melbourne Animal Rescue Incorporated

During the 2024 reporting period Melbourne Animal Rescue Inc. achieved its aims and missions by rescuing at risk animals from pounds, shelters, abusive situations, breeding facilities and taking on surrenders from families who could no longer care for their pets. During this time we provided all necessary vet work for animals in our care, as well as undertaking extensive surgical and medical inventions for complex cases. We rehabilitated, provided training for, and cared for all the animals using the foster care model. All animals in our care were carefully placed in temporary foster family homes as opposed to facilities to minimise emotional and medical stress and to receive one on care. One of our aims is to prevent the death and suffering of companion animals, and help advocate for their needs and the needs of all animals in our pound system. MAR Inc achieved its aims through working with and liasing with the community, councils, pounds and other relevant bodies. All the animals in our care that were rehomed were done so with due diligence and with an exemplary standard of care.
