The Melba Shed conducts weekly meetings, encouraging all members to get together. Preceded by an informal coffee and chat, those meetings typically involve informative presentations by guest speakers and by Shed members, on a range of topics including health and welfare issues. Recognising that social isolation can have a significant impact on mental health, the overall aims of The Shed are to encourage social interaction and advance the wellbeing and health of men in the local community. The Shed achieves these aims by providing a physical place for men to regularly meet, make new friends and share skills, interests, stories and experiences, including issues of men s physical and mental health.
