Medinsure Impact Report: January 2023 December 2024. Medinsure is a communitydriven organization established in Kenya in 2022, tackling the devastating effects of accidents and the critical shortage of orthopaedic care. Surgical missions serve as our initial step towards providing holistic solutions, with our Economic Empowerment Program and Social Health Authority (SHA) enrolment initiatives designed to build safer communities and restore dignity. Since our founding, we've significantly impacted the community by supporting over 30 orthopaedic surgical missions and providing care to over 180 outpatients. We've also mobilized resources for horticulture initiatives and empowered over 50 diaspora and local volunteers, underscoring our commitment to supporting local professionals and combating brain drain. Looking ahead, we plan to deploy SolarPowered Mobile Telehealth Hubs (SMTHs) and conduct more affordable surgical missions. These efforts will be complemented by extensive community training in mental health first aid and road safety, ensuring we continue to provide sustainable healthcare solutions. Our Impact Medinsure has directly benefited a significant number of people in Kenya since its operation began in 2022: Over 30 orthopaedic surgical missions supported: While this doesn't state the exact number of individuals, each mission would typically involve multiple surgeries. 24 patients underwent surgical procedures during one specific orthopaedic surgical mission in Busia, Kenya (December 16, 2024). More than 200 patients received outpatient medical care in Busia and Kakamega Counties during that same mission. Over 180 outpatients supported (as mentioned in your initial description, from all age groups). Financial support: Medinsure has paid for monthly National Health Insurance premiums and outofpocket medical bills for vulnerable individuals. Community empowerment: Programs like the Maendeleo Program and horticulture extension services have supported over 30 volunteers (mostly Kenyans in the Diaspora) and local communities in sustainable development initiatives. Specific individuals highlighted: Success stories like Chief Duncan, Mama Achieng, and Jose demonstrate the direct impact on beneficiaries' lives. Medinsure's programs transcend physical healing, fundamentally restoring dignity, independence, and productivity for individuals in rural Kenyan communities reliant on manual labor. Our interventions directly rebuild livelihoods, evident in success stories like Duncan Odhiambo, our pioneer recipient, who now serves as a respected chief in Seme, Kisumu County, empowering his wife to run a small business. We also see the impact in patients like Mama Achieng, who returned to farming and received support for her venture.
