Mawson's Huts Foundation Limited

Raised funds to support the ongoing conservation and maintenance of the Mawson's Huts Historic Site at Cape Denison, East Antarctica. Promoted the legacy of Sir Douglas Mawson and Australia's Antarctic heritage through educational outreach, public engagement and interpretive materials. Developed and delivered a school education program, the Mobile Antarctic Classroom, to raise awareness of Australia's Antarctic heritage and inspire students to engage with Antarctic science and history. Expanded and enhanced the Foundation s online presence to reach a wider audience. Organised the biennial Australian Antarctic Festival. It showcased Hobart as an Antarctic Gateway City while highlighting the scientific, cultural and historical connections between Australia and Antarctica.
