Mater Education is the education and training function of Mater providing a comprehensive range of health care services through its network of hospitals for the people of Queensland. It is committed to building an exceptional healthcare workforce through excellence and expertise in education and aligns itself with Maters strategic vision to empower people to live a better life through improved health and wellbeing. Mater Education develops and delivers interprofessional healthcare education, clinical training and professional development programs that support a sustainable healthcare workforce and new models of care. Through developing the capability and capacity of the healthcare workforce it improves health systems, service delivery, patient outcomes and the overall health and wellbeing of the community. A Nationally accredited, independent hospital based Registered Training Organisation (RTO), it offers a range of courses for school and tertiary students, through to highly experienced practising clinicians. Students that want to enter the healthcare workforce, build on their existing skillset as trained healthcare professionals or lead professional development for their workforce, can do so through Mater Educations worldclass programs, facilities and faculty.
