MPA activities in 2023/24 were many in terms of providing Maningrida community members with relief of poverty and disadvantage. Firstly employment is provided to local people in our stores, office and the airport. MPA provides $1,500 per funeral for families to follow ceremonial responsibilites, MPA is community leader in provision of security service to businesses and safety for support staff from breakins and other security threats, this has been highly successfull and has multiple agency support. This year MPA also has spend considerable resources gearing up to bring their own barge into Maningrida to restore competition between barge to keep freight costs down for food security.
