Mackay Childminding Association believes early childhood is a time of great learning and development. We aim to provide a safe nurturing environment where children s individuality and opinions are valued and respected. We recognise that children learn through play, modeling and experimentation while having fun. We believe all children have the right to access and participate in an affordable early childhood program and services. Diversity is valued and acknowledged through partnerships with families that promotes equality and inclusion as well as a sense of belonging to a community. We encourage our team to be continuous learners in the early childhood profession by providing them with resources and professional support. Local Indigenous elders teach our children their traditions, words and connection to our land. Children are able to walk along the river bank and in the community to create and build these connections. These teachings are important in early childhood to preserve and protect the natural environment and resources. We aim to work in partnership with families to provide continuity of care. We value family and community support and input in the delivery of the centre s policies and programmes
