Little Wings aims to ease the burden of travel, in terms of finance and time spent, to allow seriously ill children living in regional and rural NSW/ACT and QLD to reach medical appointments only available in major cities. Little Wings has consistently achieved this by providing FREE air and ground transport to seriously ill children that are registered to attend appointments at either the Sydney Children s Hospital Network, Royal Far West, John Hunter Children s Hospital or Queensland Children's Hospital. To be eligible, all children and their families must reside a minimum of 3hours driving time from their treating hospital. Little Wings also deliver the Medical Wings program, providing health professionals aeromedical access to remote and regional communities, improving a diverse range of specialised medical clinics that are not available in regional and rural NSW and QLD. This service allows doctors to conduct these clinics for hundreds of patients throughout the year, reducing the need for them to travel and ultimately reducing the risk of COVID transmission into rural areas.
