The Lions Eye Institute s aspiration of Better vision for all represents a commitment to prevent and cure blindness and eye disease. This mission has been renewed in 2025, with our research efforts responding to challenges that are being experienced globally. By 2050, the number of people with vision impairment and blindness is predicted to double across the world, so the need for novel technologies and treatments is greater now than it has ever been. A core aspect of our mission is clinical excellence in the delivery of eye care to people in Western Australia and beyond. This work is led by our highly experienced and subspecialty trained ophthalmologists, supported by our outstanding clinical staff and allied health professionals and enabled by state of the art technology, equipment and facilities in Nedlands, Murdoch, Midland and Broome.
